Regarding the Heavy Rain on June 22, 2018
Due to the heavy rainfall on June 22, 2018, the region where the mine operates and nearby villages, especially roads and related infrastructures, suffered some damage, leading to temporary closures of the Sındırgı-Simav asphalt and local roads. This rainfall is reported to be one of the heaviest in the region in the last 50 years. Also, due to rumors spread, especially through social media, indicating that the mine's waste dam overflowed, causing the spread of chemical-laden mining mud into the natural environment, Sındırgı Mayor Mr. Ekrem Yavaş and the relevant technical staff, along with Sındırgı TV reporters, visited the mine. They were taken on a tour of all sections of the mine and provided necessary information by our Public Relations unit. As a result, it was confirmed that there was no overflow or pollution from the mine or the waste dam. We present this information to the valuable residents of the region. Best regards.
